The EIPA (Educational Interpreter Proficiency Assessment) [copyright] provides credentials that are recognized in Arkansas. An EIPA score of 3.0 or higher is necessary to meet minimum required standards. Interpreters scoring below that level can be placed on provisional status with details outlined in the Arkansas Standards for Educational Interpreters and Transliterators.

The preferred standard is national certification recognized by RID (the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf). Please see their website for a list of recognized certifications.
